there is no epiphany, just a measured and balanced view that he deserved more time after delivering 2 consecutive European campaigns which by the sound of it has been almost dismissed by many posters on here.
Has my opinion that he deserved more time worked out/been correct? No it hasn’t but I stand by what I felt he deserved at the time.
Maybe it’s because I don’t have a short memory and having supported West Ham for 38 years I know playing in Europe in consecutive seasons is not the norm.
Oh and as far as me not having similar DNA (whatever the fuck that means) if that means being connected to Vexed in some way then you can keep it.
Being passionate and gutted about West Ham is normal. Insulting and arguing about West Ham is normal to a point. Screaming and throwing tantrums like a child and telling everyone to fuck off is not.

All you’ve done is explain how you could box it off…you could easily duck out of it….it means your lack of interaction or discussion didn’t raise the passion for you like it does if everywhere you turn there is a link back to West Ham. You are just too appreciative of what you get out of West Ham rather than it being in part representation of where you are brought up….therefore it becomes something a bit more personal.

Was that a sly dig at Moyes?
He also said trying to defend for the whole game is never going to work against these teams.

You hit the proverbial “nail on the head” with regards Soucek.
He is not very good technically. Passing and control are very very poor for the Premiership. “Score board fans” is an old expression used to describe people who only look at tge final score or a player who scores and simplistically conclude they are great, good or shit / crap. It takes a few games watching a player and sometimes a couple of seasons to see if they truly have “greatness” or is the dreaded “second season syndrome” once teams work you out and change tactics to negate perceived strengths.
Soucek’s form is parallel to that of the team really. He was always too slow and his passing / control sub standard but 10-15 goals masks all that. Now teams mark him tighter and watch for his late runs coupled with him losing confidence and you have what he is now. A useful plan B in tge squad not a plan A and simply not up to being first 11 if you want to press well and keep the ball better.
We need better. He like Coufal was a decent stop gap but to progress we need youth, pace and better technique. That means 5 or 6?of our regular 11 need replacing. Ideally with players we bought this summer. But although 160 million was spent it was only a start and decisions on whether we promote youth team players should also have been starting to happen.
No change of note in how we play. Injuries not helped but I cannot recall more than 2 or 3 of the 7 new players ever starting together in tge Premiership? Moyes wants time to integrate them he says? But he doesn’t have time and we are getting beaten most weeks.
As a famous baseball ( I think ) once said

Words Moyes would be wise to follow

No I didn’t get West Ham passed down to me and no I am not from the East End of London, nor are any of my family West Ham.
That doesn’t make me any less West Ham than you.
I have followed/supported West Ham for 38 years.
For every birthday all I wanted was a West Ham shirt.
The only way I could go and watch West Ham as a kid was if a family member took me as a birthday or Christmas present. We couldn’t afford it any other time. It might seem silly now but as a kid a 2.5 hour trip to watch West Ham back in the late 80s was quite a big deal then.
At my school I was the only West Ham supporter in my year surrounded by Liverpool, Man Utd & Tottenham supporters.
You think it’s hard being a West Ham fan growing up in London?
Try being one when you have no one else to engage with to share that passion and to also give you some back up every Monday where the inevitable piss taking begins after another shit result.
It would be a lot easier for me to have just given up and supported another team. So please don’t doubt my passion or loyalty.
Oh and regardless of where you come from or how passionate you are it doesn’t excuse a grown man constantly throwing tantrums and telling everyone to fuck off over a football match. Which I assume is what you are alluding to with Vexed.

Swindon it’s clear you have West Ham boxed off in your head for many others it’s not so easy, some of us work, live with fellow West Ham supporters, some of us due to our location bump into the players, some of us have generations of family who’ve unfortunately been handing down the challis which is West Ham…..this brings out a passion for the club and makes it feel like a big part of their life….a switching off of the remote or computer screen doesn’t quite do the job as there are constant reminders away from those peripherals…..

I don’t think anything Rice has done is to the detriment of Soucek. I think the fact he passes like he has two left feet and is no longer scoring headers so it hasn’t hidden how shit the rest of his game is Soucek’s issue.

Serious question. Is Vexed a bit “slow” or “unhinged” in any way?
We are all passionate and get worked up over West Ham and say things on here that we wouldn’t normally say in public or in front of friends but in the case of Vexed and his constant tantrum like rants I genuinely think he has issues.
Has anyone ever met him in person that can confirm whether he’s “all there” or not?
